Louisville institutions were awarded grants to incentivize vaccine distribution by a Kentucky health care trade association.

The Kentucky Association of Health Plans, a trade association which represents carriers offering health coverage in Kentucky, created the $500,000 grant program for statewide organizations to boost vaccination rates. Twenty-seven were awarded, including three local recipients: Presentation Academy, Jefferson County Public Schools and St. Joseph’s Children’s Home.

“This was an opportunity to try to very quickly come up with a way to enhance access to Covid vaccinations in communities,” said Tom Stephens, executive director of KAHP. “We really were trying to focus in on communities with lower vaccination rates.”
