KAHP Giving Away All-day Ride Passes to Attendees Receiving the Flu Shot at the Kentucky State Fair

KAHP Giving Away Unlimited Ride Wristband to Attendees Receiving a Flu Shot at the Kentucky State Fair

Louisville, Ky. (Aug. 13, 2024) – Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade association representing commercial insurers and Medicaid managed care organizations in the Commonwealth, today announced a Flu shot pop-up clinic and incentive giveaway.

Throughout the KY State Fair, KAHP will be giving away a free unlimited ride wristband (*while supplies last*) when attendees go to the Healthy Horizons Pavilion in South Wing B to receive a flu shot.  Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (closed Aug. 19).

Medicaid members may also be eligible to receive an incentive offered by their health plan in addition to the KAHP giveaway.

“We see this as a way to help prevent unnecessary strain on the medical system,” said Tom Stephens, KAHP President & CEO. “The flu shot lowers your risk of getting the flu. It also can lower the risk of having serious illness, a hospital stay, or even death as a result of the flu.  These incentives have been extremely popular when we have offered them at the Fair over the last few years,” continued Stephens.

The organization is getting the word out about the promotion through radio advertisements and targeted digital ads around the Fairgrounds.
