KAHP and St. Stephen Family Life Center in Louisville to Host Back to School Event

KAHP is thrilled to work with St. Stephen Family Life Center to host a great FREE event where families will receive giveaways to prepare for back to school and kids can enjoy games and face painting. We hope to see you at St. Stephen Family Life Center at 1508 W Kentucky St Louisville, KY 40210 on Sun. Aug. 4 from 11 AM- 2PM. Children must be present and accompanied by an adult.

Kentucky Association of Health Plans to Hold Giveaway Event and Fun Fair to Help Families Prepare for Back-to-School 

Louisville, Ky. (July 31, 2024) – Today, Kentucky Association of Health Plans (KAHP), the trade group representing the Commonwealth’s Medicaid managed care organizations and commercial health insurance providers, announced a Back-to-School Giveaway Event and Family Fun Fair to help families in need prepare for the new school year.  The event being coordinated with and at the St. Stephen Family Life Center at 1508 W. Kentucky St. Louisville, Kentucky 40210 and will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Sun., Aug. 4.  Families can expect facepainting and games, as well as a backpack supply, maternal health, food, and coat giveaways (Operation Warm).

 In addition, great managed care organizations like Passport, Anthem, Aetna, Humana, United, and Wellcare will be on hand with other giveaways.  Other participants include: Family Health Center  (kynector/health education), Park D (kynector), KARE Mobile (dental health screenings), Norton Healthcare (blood pressure and blood sugar checks), Exploited Children’s Help Organization (ECHO) (fingerprinting), Louisville Metro Public Health and Wellness, University of Louisville (health tests and school physicals), Louisville Metro Emergency Services, Kentucky Lions Eye Foundation, Imagination Library, PAL, and JCPS.

“Kentucky’s health plans are going the extra mile to ensure students are not only healthy, but happy and prepared for 2024-25 school year.” said Katherine Kington North vice president of external affairs for KAHP.  “Social determinants of health are a major priority for us and we’re grateful for outstanding partners like the St. Stephen Family Life Center and so many others to help our Kentucky families.”

To participate, children must be present and accompanied by an adult.
